Blk Child Welfare promotes a network of care so that Black children and their families can be well & whole and that Black social service professionals can be responsive and effective in service of Black communities.

Black Children Are Well- Blk Child Welfare will be central to a movement that lifts up the needs of Black children and families to improve well- being outcomes for Black communities.
Our Approach
Awareness & Advocacy
Blk Child Welfare is a platform to raise awareness around the nuances of child and family serving systems and the impact on Black children & families. It is our goal to amplify the voices of Black people with lived experience and to lift up innovate work that produces equitable outcomes for Black communities. We want success for all families as systems that are often failing communities of Black people, are actually failing us all.
We are actively seeking the voices of Black youth, parents, families and professionals with lived experience to contribute to the development and sharing of content.
Unity & Solidarity
Blk Child Welfare is the host of the group Blk Leaders in Social Services (BLISS) who come together to discuss the nuances of the work in social services, be of support to each other, build capacity to lead and co-create solutions (Think Tank) that partners alongside communities eliminate disparate outcomes for Black children & families. It is our belief that it takes collaboration to impact change.

Community Investment
Blk Child Welfare is a platform that facilitates and manages the investment of individuals’ time, talent & treasure who are committed to ensuring positive outcomes for Black children and families Our intent is to influence outcomes through collective investments & collaborations with a focus on Black led grass roots & small non- profit organizations and communities.
We are creating strategic alignment with individuals and organizations to facilitate investments targeted at ensuring the well-being of Black children and families.
